On the Gulf Coast of Mexico. Rodriguez is driving down to Colombia where his long-time friend lives.

Rodriguez:
I guess that the prosecutors and "those guys" have a hunch that the incriminating papers have already passed into the hands of Slim Born. I'm sure they've already sent a number of hit men down here by now to keep my mouth shut. They must know that it's not so easy to get rid of me.... |

テキサスチリと、うーんと、オニオンリングスをください は〜〜〜。結局、昔みたいにまた１人になっちゃったな。でも、おれにはこういう境遇が向いてるのかも そういえば、サラと初めて出会ったのは、このハードロックカフェだったな… あれは確か、おれがラブカロリー社を立ち上げたばかりのころ。徹夜続きのある日、カウンターで１人遅い夕食をとってると、男にナンパされてるサラに気づいたんだっけ 夜だってのに、まがい物のシャネルのサングラスなんかかけて、ほんと胡散臭いやつだったよ 「職業？外科医さ。いま住んでるとこは銀座なんだけど、来週、西麻布のマンションに引越しするんだ。車はメルセデスベンツのオープンカー 実はビバリーヒルズに本宅があってね、知ってる、メルローズ・アベニュー？ あっちではランボルギーニに乗ってて、ハリウッドスターの知り合いがいっぱいいるよ。シルヴェスター・スタローンは大の仲良し 聞いてるこっちが恥ずかしくなるような話だったけど、かわいそうに、サラは目をキラキラさせて、まんまとひっかかってたんだよな… おれがいなけりゃ、どうなってたことか… |
Rodriguez:
I’d like to have Texas chili and some onion rings, please. Haaaaaa. In the end, I'm lonely again like I used to be. But, somehow I might be better suited for this sort of circumstance. Come to think of it, the place that I first met Sarah was this Hard Rock Cafe.... If I remember correctly, it was right after I set up Love Calorie. Working through the night, night after night, one day I was having a late dinner by myself at the counter, then I noticed Sarah being hit on by a man. Although it was during the night, he was wearing fake Chanel sunglasses: he really was a shady-looking character. "My profession? A surgeon. I live in Ginza now, but I'm moving to a condo in Nishi Asabu next week. I drive a Mercedes convertible. Actually I have a permanent home in Beverly Hills, too. Do you know, Melrose Avenue? I drive a Lamborghini down there. Of course I acquaint myself with a lot of Hollywood stars. Sylvester Stallone is a great friend of mine." Indeed, the story even made a listener red-faced with embarrassment, but sadly Sarah's eyes were twinkling: she was completely taken in.... I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't been there.... |

おしえてもらった住所だと、ここがミゲルの家か コロンビアのエメラルド鉱山で警備員をやってたとき、強盗団のあいつと知り合ったんだよな。いや〜、激しい銃撃戦だったよ あれ…？玄関から女性が出てきたぞ…。んんん？？あれは、まさか…！？ |
Rodriguez:
The address I was given shows that this is where Miguel lives, I suppose. While I was working as a guard at an emerald mine in Colombia, I got to know him; he was part of a robber gang. Ahhh, it really was an intense gun battle, as I recall. Hmm... A woman is coming out of the entrance.... Ohhhh?? Don't tell me, that is....!? |
