おや、どこの美人かと思ったら、きみか |
Mr. born, the executive vice-president: Wow, it was you. I was wondering who the beautiful lady was. |
バーバラ：
あら〜社長さん。明けましておめでとうございます |
Barbara: Oh, hello, Mr. Born. Happy New Year. |
ボーン副社長：
正月早々、よく働くじゃないか。どうだい、そっちの景気は？ |
Mr. born, the executive vice-president: You've been already working quite hard over the New Year's holiday. How is the work looking? |
バーバラ：
それが、がんばってるわりにはイマイチなんですの。世の中、いざなぎ越えだとか、うなぎ景気なんて騒いでますけど、サラリーマンの財布の紐はまだまだ固いですわよ そうそう、うちで新商品が出ましたの。その名も「うっかりあなたの医療保険」。社長さんもどうです？ |
Barbara: Not the greatest, no matter how hard I work. People are fussing about "exceeding the Izanagi Boom" or "Unagi Keiki", but I think that businessmen still keep a tight hold on their purse strings. Oh, yes. Our company has launched a new product. バーバラ：

Mr. born, the executive vice-president: No problem, no problem. I'm enjoying the short escape, actually. Well, whenever I'm in the president's office, I can't get ahead with my work. Whenever I start thinking, someone always interrupt like: please check this document now, a request for a decision, please or whatever. I don't know what is written, so all I do is sign it.
