ぼくは、小さいころから、オヤジに経営学と帝王学をたたきこまれて育った 小学５年のある日、オヤジはぼくに子会社の株をくれた。ぼくはそれを最高値で売り抜け、20万ドルの現金を手にしたんだ 中学１年の誕生日、オヤジはぼくに経営破たんした小さな会社をくれた。そして、こう言った。「リストラして、経営を立て直せ」。ぼくは13歳にして、40名の社員をクビにしたんだ… 「情は捨てろ！」「スリムボーン帝国の繁栄だけを考えるんだ！」。オヤジの口癖さ… これまでの人生、すべてこんな調子だよ。人に情けをかけたこともなければ、人を愛したこともない。実のところ、愛がどんなものかすら、ぼくにはわからないんだよ… |
Alex: My father has hammered the theory of business administration and elitism into me since I was a kid. One day when I was in the fifth grade, my father gave me some stocks of one of his subsidiary companies. I sold off them at the highest price and had 200,000 dollars in my hands. On my birthday in the seventh grade, my father gave me a small company which had fallen into bankruptcy and said to me. "Reduce redundant personnel and reshape the business management".
