今日の３時のおやつは鎧塚俊彦のクープ・ミルティーユでございます。開店２時間前に並んでゲットしてきましたわ 奥さま…？どうされたのですか…？ |
Barbara: Today's three o'clock sweet is Toshihiko Yoroizuka's coupe myrtille. I stood in line for two hours before the shop opened to make sure I got it. Madam? You look... is something the matter? |
しずかちゃん：
あ…バーバラさん…。サラさんはお帰りになったの？ いま、ちょうど彼女のことを考えてたの。彼女、とても純粋でかわいらしい方ね。１人の男性のことをあんな風に一途に愛せるなんてうらやましいわ |
Shizuka chan:
Ah....Barbara san.... Has Sarah left? I was just thinking about her now. She is such a pure-hearted and lovely woman, isn't she? I do envy the way she devotes herself to loving a man with all her heart like she does. |
バーバラ：
そうですね…。でも、終わった恋愛を引きずってたら、あっという間に10年たってしまったなんてこともあるので、時と場合によるかと… |

Barbara: Madam Shizuka, what are you trying to say? It's obvious that you are truly in love with Mr. Alex. Ah...don't.. don't tell me...Shizuka cha...no, madam....you are still thinking about....Rod? |

女優を目指してアメリカにやってきたのが、今から12年前。生活費を稼ぐため、あなたのお店クラブバー薔薇で働いていたときロドに出会ったわ ロドは初め、わたしのことを親不孝者だとか、英語がヘタくそだとか、日本でかわいいとモテはやされてたからって、アメリカで女優として成功するとは限らないとか、いじわるなことばっかり言ったわ でも、そうやってわたしをいじめるときの彼の目は、反対にとっても優しかった |
Shizuka chan:
It was 12 years ago when I came to the USA in the hope of becoming an actress. To make a living, I started working at Club Barbara, the club you owned. Then, I met Rod there for the first time. At the beginning, he was so mean to me: he called me a bad daughter and said my English was hopelessly awful. He also once said just because a lot of boys fussed over me all the time in Japan, that didn't mean I would have automatic success as an actress in America. But the way he looked at me while he was teasing me, it was so tender in contrast to that. |

アメリカのことも、自分の将来のこともまるでわからなかったけど、不思議と、ロドといっしょにいるときは、不安も心細さもまったく感じなかった。とても居心地がよかった… そんな彼のことを、わたしはすぐに好きになったわ。でも、彼には愛する妻・サラさんとかわいいゴンザレスちゃんがいた… 女優として仕事が舞い込むようになったころ、わたしはアレックスと出会った。そして彼にプロポーズされた。わたしはロドのことを忘れるために彼のプロポーズを受けた。そして、アレックスを愛し、暖かい家庭をつくろうとがんばった でも、結局、彼の愛を得ることはできなかった… 女優の道も中途半端なら、ロドへの愛も、アレックスへの愛も中途半端… |
Shizuka chan: I didn't know anything about America or what was going to happen to me in the future, but I never felt anxious or lonesome whenever I was with Rod. I felt as cozy as I was at home... Soon I fell in love with him. But, he had a beloved wife, Sarah, and cute little Gonzalez.... When the actress job offers started coming along, I met Alex. Then, he proposed to me. In order to get rid of the feelings I had for Rod, I accepted his marriage proposal. And, I did my best to make a loving family with him. However, after all, I failed to win his love....
