Chapter 5: Straight from Slovakia in Eastern Europe
Dobrý deň! It’s me, MaguMagu-chan. I’m here in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia! ”Dobrý deň” is how you say hello in Slovak.
Flowing east through the Black Forest of of southern Germany, crossing through 10 countries before connecting to the black sea, the international Danube River measures some 2800 km. Bratislava is situated right on the beautiful blue river.
Pierogis are commonly found in eastern Europe, and are called ”Bryndzové pirohy” in Slovak. They’re filled with things like mashed potatoes, bryndza (goat cheese), and sour cream, and are often served with slanina (bacon) and fried onions.
